About Boost

Australian juice bar phenomenon, Boost Juice Bars, is juicing in Singapore and Malaysia!

A History

Boost Juice Bars™ was born in 2000 in sunny Australia, when Janine Allis (mum of three) decided there was a lack of healthy options out there for her and her kids…. Following a trip to the U.S she noticed that Juice Bars were popping up everywhere. So upon returning to Australia she developed a business plan and raised $250,000 through friends investing in the concept to get the plan underway. The first store opened in Adelaide in 2000, and over the following six years more than 250 stores have opened throughout Australia and the rest of the world.

Janine consulted with nutritionists and naturopaths to create a menu of healthy juices and smoothies that were free of preservatives, artificial flavours and colours. She is passionate about creating products that are as healthy as possible, and continues to research new ways to further improve the products. Her range of TD4® low fat frozen yoghurts used in the smoothies contain live cultures streptococcus thermophillis and lactobacillus delbruekil for added nutritional benefits.

There are now over 250 Boost Juice Bars™  globally –  countries include: UK, Portugal, Estonia, South Africa, Chile, Kuwait, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong & Macau, plus one is about to open in Dubai!

Introducing Boost Juice Singapore and Malaysia

Boost Juice Bars originally came to Singapore in 2006, and in 2011 was brought under the management of Dr Soraya Ismail and Nick Tiernan. They are the Master Franchise Owners for Singapore, Malaysia. Together, they bring to the business over 25 years of international business experience in retail and customer relationship management consultancy where they have successfully managed and delivered new business change on a multi-million dollar scale, across a range of industries in the US, UK, Europe, Australia, Japan, Indonesia and Singapore.

Nick and Soraya became fans of the iconic Australian smoothies when they lived and worked in Melbourne. However, it was on their honeymoon that the newlyweds decided to bring Boost to Malaysia – heralding a return home for Soraya who is half Malaysian and half Singaporean. The opportunity to expand their leadership to Singapore in 2011 was a natural progression!

Boost offers a healthy alternative to fast food, which is encompassed in a brand perceived to be ‘cool’ by young consumers. The menu offers ‘Seriously Healthy’ and delicious smoothies, juices and crushes, all developed with the assistance of a nutritionist, all at least 98% fat free, with no added sugar and free from any artificial flavours or colourings.

Soraya explains that Boost is about more than a great-tasting product. “Boost is not just another juice bar – the brand is based is on the entire Boost Experience, which takes place every time a customer enters a store”. This is a combination of a fantastic product, served by positive and energetic people, in a bright and colourful store environment.

Soraya is determined to change the eating habits of ordinary Singaporeans and persuade them of the need for healthy eating and exercise. As a keen athlete herself, (she runs, cycles, swims and kick boxes regularly) she is always encouraging her staff and customers to ‘love life’.

The first Boost store started juicing in November 2006 and has grown to 16 stores in Singapore and 60 in Malaysia. Expansion plans for 2016 continue to be exciting – with many more stores in Singapore coming soon!
